Our members are active employees and retirees (life members) ofa Corporation dedicated to public service that has seen its' name change from Western Electric to AT&T to Lucent Technologies and to Alcatel-Lucent and grow to include Avaya Communications, Agere, other companies,andalso includes friends in our communities. The names may have changed, but the dedication continues to grow and reach out to our communities.

Summer/Fall

Arkansas Council:
Made and delivered 600 Hug-A-Bears and 112 Lap Robes to the local hospitals.
Provides entertainment to a nursing home twice a month.
New Outlook and SBC Pioneers had a hamburger cook out and raised $1400. for Hurricane Relief.
Donated to the Red Cross five skids of bottled water, 1100 cots and $1000.
Fifty pioneers attended the Sept. monthly luncheon.

West Missouri/Kansas Council:
The West Missouri Mixed Club assisted the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and localBoy and Girl Scouts with the annual Longview Lake cleanup on Saturday,Sept. 10th. The pioneers provided lunch.
The pioneers sewing ladies meet once a month and to date they have delivered 17,533 Heart pillows to St. Lukes Hospital.
The Charm Shop had four visitors from SBC. They toured the Charm Shop to see how and what they do to make the devices for the schools they sponsor.
Long time charm volunteer passes - Chester W. Garrett started volunteering at the CHARM Shop when he retired in 1982. He could build any of the delicate devices as well as the largest and most complicated. His smiling face and laughter will certainly be missed by all the CHARM workers.
 
East Missouri C
ouncil:
The pioneers will help to decorate the lights for the annual Tilles Park Winter Wonderland the week of Oct. 10 thru 14, from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. They will receive
$250 for donating their time. The money will be used for community service projects.
The annual charitable golf tournament is confirmed for next year----                 .   The money raised will be donated to the Circle of Concern project.
Donated $500.00 to the American Red Cross to help with the Katrina Disaster Relief.

Texas Council:
Painted a map for an elementary school in Flower Mound, Texas. 
 
Louisiana Council:
Made and donated hug-a-bears to the local hospitals.
